About Us
We serve residential customers in Chester and Delaware counties, Pennsylvania and northern New Castle County, Delaware.
Brandywine Home & Garden was founded in 2003 and is based in Landenberg, PA. The business is an avocation-turned-second-career following 30+ years of corporate management.
While much of my horticultural knowledge is self-learned through study and personal experience, educational opportunities are part of the job. Class time at Longwood Gardens, for example, as well as training from plant growers (e.g., The Conard-Plyle Company) keeps my knowledge fresh. Regular interaction with business suppliers (e.g., EP Henry, Techo-Bloc, Inc., Belgard Hardscapes, Unique Lighting, NDS Industries) and networking with others in the trade keep my skills current.
We’ll take your design ideas and work them into a layout that fits your personality and budget. Modest in size or grand, we’ll help plant your concepts firmly in the ground. Plant designs not your thing? New home without a lick of green? We’ll come up with a complete concept for you to react to…including a profile of each plant complete with a photo, site needs and care information. Don’t hold back to communicate what you like or don’t like. 
Changes during the design stage are easily made with just a few strokes of a pencil. Like to accompany me to a nursery to make sure you like the plants? Absolutely!
Color, form, texture and knowledge of the size to which plants will grow are very important in design. Avoid plans that simply ‘pack’ a space without demonstrating creativity.
